~ Succession Planning~
Our Succession Planning Process is focused on the identification and development of
senior level talent for current and future leadership opportunities.
The objectives are:
• To ensure quality leadership talent and bench strength
• To provide a systematic way of understanding the skills and potential of your key people
• To link the identification and development of this talent to critical business strategies
• To have the right people ready to take on key leadership roles
• To identify & develop the “bench strength” to ensure coverage and depth for current positions
• To identify & develop a “key talent pool” that provides the agility/flexibility
to capitalize on new opportunities
• To establish development/action plans to enhance individual “readiness”
• To enhance the contributions, commitment and retention of your key talent
This Process is designed to provide the right people in the right place at the right time with the right capabilities.
Our Succession Planning Process Is:
A process for identifying key senior level positions, defining the success criteria for those positions, identifying current & potential replacements, assessing individual readiness and developing individuals who are or will be ready to move into key leadership positions. It is focused on highly critical positions and highly capable individuals who have demonstrated strong commitment by delivering exceptional performance. It includes the identification of key people, establishing specific development plans, and creating a talent pool you can draw from to meet leadership needs. It is integrated with other human capital management processes including staffing/recruiting, compensation, performance management, learning & development, & retention.
Our Succession Planning Process Is Not:
An entitlement program. It provides no guarantees individuals will automatically move into the next level job. It is not designed to promote a “list” mentality where individuals are either in or out. It is not a bureaucratic process, it is not a stand-alone event; it is simple and easy to use. |
